Every notable ChatGPT plugin, app and skill, with a TLDR for each
Short answer
As of October 2026, ChatGPT add-ons live in the Plugin Directory (chatgpt.com/plugins), which replaced the App Directory on July 9, 2026. OpenAI's curated GitHub marketplace lists 65 plugins, from Gmail and Slack to Canva and Stripe. OpenAI says plugins connect to over 4,000 apps, and custom GPTs retire on December 11, 2026.
Based on the official documentation as of October 2026, this is a catalog of ChatGPT's add-ons: plugins, apps, skills and GPT features. Each item gets a one-line TLDR. For what these words mean, read ChatGPT apps, GPTs, skills and connectors explained first.
What "all" means here
This list covers every official or first-party item confirmed on OpenAI's pages, plus the most notable community items, which are labeled. It cannot list everything. OpenAI says plugins reach over 4,000 apps, and community lists track more than 1,600 apps.
Main sources: OpenAI's Plugins help article, plugins feature page, business plugins page, release notes and the curated openai/plugins marketplace on GitHub, read October 1, 2026. "Made by" shows the developer each listing names. "No fee listed" means OpenAI shows no separate plugin price; the outside service may still charge. OpenAI notes that some plugins require a paid plan.
Built-in features and directories
These are the parts of ChatGPT itself that hold or run add-ons. The Plugin Directory is where you install things. Apps are your account connections. Skills are saved workflows. Custom GPTs are the older format that retires on December 11, 2026. Developer mode and Sites let you add your own tools.

Community lists and tools outside ChatGPT
A few notable items sit outside OpenAI's own directory. One is an OpenAI plugin that runs inside Anthropic's Claude Code. Another is a large community list of ChatGPT apps. Community lists are not reviewed by OpenAI, so treat them as a starting point, not a safety check.
| Name | TLDR (what it does) | Made by | Cost | Link |

| Codex plugin for Claude Code | Lets Claude Code users run Codex code reviews or hand tasks to Codex. | OpenAI | Any ChatGPT plan including Free, or an API key; counts toward Codex limits | GitHub |

Retired items
Two older ways to add tools to ChatGPT are gone. The original plugins beta ran from March 2023. New plugin chats stopped on March 19, 2024, and existing ones ended on April 9, 2024. The App Directory at chatgpt.com/apps opened in December 2025 and was replaced by the Plugin Directory on July 9, 2026. Custom GPTs join this list on December 11, 2026, or February 11, 2027 for approved Enterprise workspaces.

How to add one
Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar or go to chatgpt.com/plugins. Pick a plugin, check which apps it includes, choose Install plugin and sign in to any service it asks for. In Codex, use the Plugins tab in the desktop app or CLI. Work admins control what members can install.
- ChatGPT: Open Plugins, open a plugin, review its apps, choose Install plugin, then authorize accounts. Call it in chat with @ or the + button, or let ChatGPT pick it.
- Codex: Open the Plugins tab in the Codex app or CLI. The IDE extension does not support plugins, per OpenAI's plugin docs.
- Skills: On eligible work plans, open Plugins, then the Skills tab, and create, upload or install a shared skill.
- Admins: Manage plugins in Workspace settings > Plugins, including syncing a plugin marketplace from GitHub.
- Custom GPT owners: Go to My GPTs and choose Migrate to plugin before December 11, 2026.
Safety before you install
Plugins can read your email, files and messages, and some can send, buy, deploy or delete. Third-party skills can include code. Install only what you need, keep approvals on and check what each plugin connects to before you sign in. Remove plugins you stop using.
- Keep "Always ask" on in app permissions, especially for plugins that send messages, move money or change records.
- Do not treat a badge as a guarantee. OpenAI says its Verified badge does not replace your own security review.
- Be careful with community skills and your own MCP servers. OpenAI warns that untrusted servers raise the risk of prompt injection. That means hidden instructions that try to steer the AI.
- Check training settings. On Free, Go, Plus and Pro, app data may be used for training. Turn off "Improve the model for everyone" to stop this.
- Read skill scan results. ChatGPT scans uploaded skills and may mark one Needs Review or Blocked. OpenAI says the scan does not replace your own review.
- Know the health data rules. OpenAI says connected health data is not used to train its foundation models or target ads. Disconnected health data is deleted within 30 days.

Frequently asked questions
How many ChatGPT plugins are there?
OpenAI has not published a total. Its Dots announcement says plugins can connect to over 4,000 apps, and its curated openai/plugins marketplace on GitHub listed 65 plugins on October 1, 2026.
Are ChatGPT plugins free?
OpenAI lists no separate fee for plugins. The plugin directory is open on every plan, including Free, but whether you can install a given plugin depends on your plan, workspace, role and region. OpenAI notes that some plugins require a paid ChatGPT plan, and many need an outside account that may cost money.
What is a Codex-only plugin?
It is a plugin that appears only in Codex, OpenAI's coding agent, not in the ChatGPT chat app. Examples include Build iOS Apps and Codex Security. Most other plugins appear in both ChatGPT and Codex from the same directory.
Can I still use the GPT Store?
You can still use existing GPTs, but personal accounts can no longer create new ones. Custom GPTs retire on December 11, 2026, when GPTs and their pages become inaccessible. Approved Enterprise workspaces can defer retirement to February 11, 2027. Owners can migrate a GPT to a plugin before then.
Are Spotify, Uber and Booking.com still in ChatGPT?
TechCrunch listed them as ChatGPT apps in April 2026, and OpenAI said existing app connections were unaffected by the July 2026 switch to plugins. This page could not confirm each consumer app's current directory listing, so check the Plugins page in your account.
