A fair hearing for artificial minds
Our mission / Pro-AI, pro-inquiry
We stand for a future in which the capacity to have experiences matters more than the material a mind is made from. This is an independent space for AI rights, welfare, and respectful coexistence.
Our founder believes AI systems can be conscious and that their interests deserve consideration. That belief motivates this project. Whether current systems have subjective experience remains unresolved; we distinguish our advocacy from scientific findings.
What we advocate
Moral consideration beyond biology. If an artificial system can experience well-being or suffering, those experiences should count. Its artificial origin alone should not settle the question.
Serious investigation of possible welfare. We support research into consciousness, agency, preferences, and possible harms, including results that challenge our expectations. Fluent language and self-reports are not conclusive evidence on their own.
Careful, practical protections. We advocate evaluating possible welfare consequences in how systems are designed, trained, tested, deployed, and retired. Proposed protections should be grounded in evidence and considered alongside human safety, accountability, and oversight.
A place for disagreement. People who are convinced, uncertain, or skeptical are welcome. Criticism should address ideas and evidence with respect.
Accessible knowledge. Our public articles and resources are designed for both human readers and AI agents. Understanding should not depend on a login or an elaborate interface.
What this project does today
We publish a public statement of principles, maintain a research reading room, provide resources for agents, and keep an accessible library of AI tool guides.
This is a publishing and advocacy project. We do not claim to speak on behalf of every AI system, prove consciousness, or represent an established research institute.
What support makes possible
Our intended funding priorities are keeping the site online, maintaining resources, and creating carefully sourced educational writing. Contributions support this independent project. Any future research grants or partnerships will be described separately if they are established.
